A new report released today by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reveals the devastating impact of violence, insecurity, and food scarcity on the lives of people in South Darfur, Sudan.
Titled “Voices from South Darfur,” the report presents firsthand testimonies that show how widespread violence, the collapse of the healthcare system, and weak international response have drained people’s ability to cope.
In this context, Ozan Akgöz, MSF’s Emergency Manager in Sudan, stated:
“The voices and stories of the people reflect the extent of suffering, violations, and cruelty experienced by communities in South Darfur. But they also demonstrate their resilience and compassion. With the collapse of civilian protection mechanisms and insufficient humanitarian aid, the people of South Darfur are calling for their voices to be heard, for attention, and for action.”
